Regent Lettings recommend that landlords take up a professional cleaning service at the end of each tenancy, which will bring benefits to both landlords and tenants on many levels. We talk to Jamie King, owner of JSK Cleaning, who provides Regent Lettings with their end of tenancy cleaning service.

What is involved in an end of tenancy clean?

"At JSK Cleaning, our philosophy is to return a property to show home standard. As soon as a tenant moves out we move in and conduct a full spring clean; from the skirting board to the cobwebs in the corners of ceilings! We work using a standard check list, however we have a common sense approach to cleaning –if it’s dirty, we’ll clean it! We can also add in areas specific to the property needs, such as exterior window cleaning or oven cleaning, bringing in and managing trusted third party suppliers and taking the stress off the landlord."

How do you quote for a clean?

"We are able to provide a standard quote over the phone, or if a more detailed inspection is required, we will visit the property and respond with a quote by the next day at the latest. You won’t need to wait around to book in the clean, we can usually guarantee to be on site within 24 or 48 hours of a quote being accepted."

"We usually allow a day for the clean, but it does depend on the size of the property and how much extra work is required, for example managing contractors on site."

What are the benefits of an end of tenancy clean?

"For landlords, they will know that a thorough deep clean has taken place as they will receive the pre-agreed check list showing what has been done. This detailed approach also allows us to spot any maintenance issues not always obvious from a visual inspection such as problems with lighting or fitted cupboards. We are fully insured and our philosophy is to take care of a property as if it were our own."

"At JSK Cleaning, the detail we put into our cleans can really make a difference to the new tenants, meaning they can move into a property and instantly feel at home. We take the time to remove limescale stains from the bathroom, clean spots on carpets and bring the property up to our Show Home standard. Tenants are also more likely to take more care of a property throughout the tenancy if they receive it in a good condition. We are often asked by the tenants to provide a regular domestic cleaning service, which makes the end of tenancy inspections much smoother."
